Exploring

One of our favorite things is getting out and finding some places that we have never been! Whether it be a drive to a destination or just a drive down a Kentucky backroad enjoying the beauty of this part of the country. Rolling hills covered with rich green bluegrass. Cattle spread across an open field. The majesty of a thoroughbred standing with its coat glistening in the bright warm sunlight of a spring day in central Kentucky!

However it isn’t only Kentucky that we enjoy exploring. We were blessed to lived for a few years in Savannah, Georgia. Also filled with its own unique charm and beauty, that we fell in love with in our brief time there! Surrounded by the live oak trees, with their Spanish moss hanging lazily in the hot summer sun and the warm breeze makes for a picturesque view. The sand of the beach and the screech of a seagull wanting the popcorn that a tourist has, against all advice, brought to the beach on nearby Tybee Island. The sound of the waves as they roll onto the beach. The smell of sunscreen blowing across the hot sand. The fishermen on the pier, casting their bait over the side, as black pelicans scan the choppy waters for lunch.

These are just some of the things that we love to do! Of course as we travel around finding new and interesting things, the trusty Nikon goes along. A trusted and necessary piece of our travel ensemble. When we see something that catches our eye we might change a lens, or not change a lens, but for sure we will struggle to get that focus, that angle, that perfect lighting and capture that photo, both for our own satisfaction and to share those pictures with you. It has been said that photographers are at the right place at the right time only to miss the shot. By George, we sure do know that feeling. However, we keep trying to capture that one photo that will make us say wow! We only hope that some of these photos may do the same for you!
